FitnessHome ("we") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
Important: The App adopts a “local-first” storage approach. Your core health data (body composition/body fat data) is stored on your device by default. Unless you actively use AI features, we will not upload such data to our servers.
- Account information: When you register, we collect your email address, nickname, and hashed/encrypted password. If you use third-party sign-in (Apple/Google), we may collect the corresponding unique identifier (e.g., OpenID/UnionID) and avatar.
- Profile information: To calculate metrics such as BMI and BMR, we may ask you to set gender, date of birth, height, target weight, and activity level.
- Device information: device model, OS version, region settings, and language preferences for compatibility and troubleshooting.
- Log information: crash logs or performance data (excluding specific health values).
- Definition: data measured via a smart scale or entered manually, including weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, bone mass, water percentage, visceral fat level, BMI, etc.
- Storage: such data is stored only on your device by default (AsyncStorage).
- Exception: only when you tap “Generate AI Advice”, the App will transmit the current set of health data to our servers over encrypted channels. We use it only to call AI services in real time and do not persist the transmitted raw health data or the generated advice results in our server-side database.
To provide core features, the App may request the following permissions:
- Bluetooth: to scan and connect to smart scales and receive measurements.
- Location: on Android, location permission (Fine Location) may be required by the OS to scan BLE devices. We do not collect, upload, or store your location track; this permission is used solely to satisfy Android BLE scanning requirements.
We use information for the following purposes:
1. Basic services: authenticate users and sync basic profile/settings.
2. Health analysis: compute BMI and trends locally on your device.
3. AI advice: send de-identified health metrics to third-party AI providers (OpenAI) to generate personalized advice.
4. Service improvement: diagnose issues using crash/performance logs.
We do not sell your personal information. To provide features, we use the following third-party services:
- Purpose: generate health advice.
- Data exchanged: we send health metrics (excluding identifiers such as email/phone) to OpenAI.
- Privacy: OpenAI processes data under its own policies. We configure our usage to avoid using such data for model training where applicable under OpenAI API terms.
- Purpose: sign-in and authentication.
- Data exchanged: authentication token and basic profile info (nickname/email) as provided by the platform.
5.1 In-transit security: we use HTTPS (TLS/SSL) for transmission.
5.2 Storage security: passwords are stored using strong hashing.
5.3 Local storage: data stored on your device is subject to your device security settings (e.g., screen lock).
- Access and correction: you can view and modify your profile in the App.
- Deletion:
- Local data: you can delete all body composition data by uninstalling the App or clearing app data.
- Cloud account: you can request account deletion in the App; we will delete your registration information and any necessary account-related service data (if any).
The App is not intended for children under 18. If we become aware that we collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version in the App and notify you of material changes.
